ANIMAL CARE
What Care Do They Receive?
The first stop for each cat brought into the program is the Veterinarian clinic. The cats are tested for Feline Leukemia, FIV, and are examined for possible injuries or other health problems. They are also checked and treated for parasites and will receive their first vaccinations. If they're old enough, they'll be spayed or neutered. This is when they are evaluated for personality, behavior and
temperament so we may know what type of foster home to place them in.
Once their checkup and treatment is completed, the cats go into a foster home program where they are socialized with people and other cats. This foster home time is spent being nursed back to health and learning to trust people again.
